Carroll’s newest academic building, Doug and Nancy Hastad Hall, was dedicated in front of over 150 students, faculty, staff and community members on Friday, January 12, 2018.

Doug and Nancy Hastad Hall will house the nursing, physics/engineering and exercise science programs as well as provide space for other academic classroom needs. Students will benefit from:

  • State-of-the-art nursing simulation facility
  • Exercise science laboratories
  • Bucyrus Center for Applied Physics and Engineering
  • Sophisticated projection systems and technology
  • Classrooms and computer labs

Carroll University President Cindy Gnadinger said, “Doug and Nancy Hastad Hall  will provide all faculty with the ability to create technology infused teaching and learning environments that can enhance student engagement and promote their intellectual curiosity and creativity.”

Doug Hastad thanked the many donors for their generosity and  support during his eleven-year tenure as president stating, “You don’t see bricks and mortar, but you see a period of time that we were able to be part of transforming this campus.”

The building also boasts the first green roof in Waukesha.

Nearly two-thirds of Carroll students major in the sciences, with the university experiencing a strong demand for programs in areas such as nursing, physician assistant studies, physical therapy and exercise science/physiology.

Recent graduating classes in both nursing and occupational therapy achieved notable success in 2017. A total of 78 students graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, each passing their NCLEX (National Council Licensure Examination) exam on the first try ranking Carroll’s program #1 in the State of Wisconsin and the country. Additionally, 29 students earned their Masters in Occupational Therapy, each passing the NBCOT (National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy) exam on the first try.

Doug and Nancy Hastad Hall will officially welcome students with the start of the spring semester on January 22, 2018.
